More and more, women are raising children on their own. Without the benefit of another adult to help with the everyday struggles of just being a parent, the financial and emotional burdens can, at times, be overwhelming.
Here are a few resources that moms can turn to for much needed support and relief. Some of these providers offer several services, allowing for one stop shopping.

This charity gives shelter, food, clothing, and necessities to abused women and their children.

This agency collects diapers and then distributes them. It has a list of distribution sites on its website. They ask recipients to contact the Health Department first.

Community Food Bank
Provides families with free food and sells groceries at a discount. Food stamps, WIC, and Food Plus vouchers can be redeemed here.
